How often have you heard the following expressions?
“I cannot write”
“I’m stuck for something to write about”
“My writing is rubbish”
“How do I find something to write about?”
Perhaps you have said one or more of these, I know I have!
If you want to start a review blog, your own personal blog or Article Marketing then content is king. There needs to be plenty of it and it needs to be of a high quality. If the thought of writing tons of articles fills you with dread and despair then there is an answer…
It is know as Private Label Rights or PLR materials. PLR articles or eBooks grant you the rights to re-use, re-edit and publish the materials as if you had written it yourself. So you could produce a whole series of articles or posts for your review or personal blog by simply using the PLR materials.
But STOP!!! Don’t make the BIG mistake that most people make with PLR articles and that is to simply publish them as written. The obvious advantage of this approach is that it requires virtually no work and that is the mistake.
PLR materials should be looked at as a skeleton on which to build your own unique article, by re-writing PLR eBooks and articles you can put your own unique spin on the article or blog post and inject it with your own personality. That’s what distinguishes a good re-written PLR article from the source material (which many people will have the rights to use).
So where can you get good PLR materials?
A Google search will return thousands of links to PLR sites but as with all things all PLR articles are not created equal. So you need to be choosey about the PLR materials that you use.
One of the best sources of PLR for you to try for free is to sign up for some Giveaway events. You can then download a host of PLR materials and try them out without it costing you a cent. Here are some current giveaways to get you started.

Hey Rob,
Great post on PLR, its one of the best areas of product creation there is, I’ve always looked on it as a really savvy way to create products!
I have just created a blog post covering ‘viral marketing’ and how you can use and edit PLR material to create ‘viral’ reports, for people who do not like to create their own reports from scratch.
Anyway Rob great subject….Ed.

That’s an excellent post on PLR Robert and it’s great advice for those who struggle writing. As you point out the important thing is to rewrite it and put your own stamp on it, not just publish it as written.
I know PLR is extremely popular with IMers but personally I like to create my own stuff, it may sound strange to most people but I would feel as if I was cheating.

Hello… I’d rather be straighforward. I need to have backlinks to my essay writing free-for-all site and I would be thankful if you could approve my backlink here. My resource is an absolutely free site that teaches students on the essentials of essay writing and I am without doubt that ESL students will learn from it. Once more, I appreciate you will accept my thread, and I thank you in anticipation.

PLR has always been great for catching attention of visitors and helped building list easily. It depends on market though. Internet marketing niche for instance has lots of PLR, Brandable PDFs available which may not be available for Untapped niches sometime.

Hi Kim, thanks for dropping by one soultion to the problem is to have some articles written for you by an outsource worker, maybe through elance or similaer sites. You can negotiate a price for a series of article just make sure you retain the copyright of the origionals.

Hey Robert,
Some great content here on your blog. Personally I try to avoid plr material but it is a great way to get started when creating your own products. There is so much you can do with plr such as turn e-books in to video products, break them down in to mini email courses and much much more. As you say the key is to take the time to edit, update and add your own spin.
All the best in 2011 🙂

Hi Rob, great post, as always. One great little trick I learnt about plr is to choose your keywords then insert them into the title and post content to a. make it unique and b. rank it higher in the search engines.
Enjoy the journey.

Hi Alex,Seph, you are right here its all about the quality of the material you start off with, poor source materials means much more effort.

Great post Rob! I’ve used PLR in the past when I was starting a new blog on a subject I didn’t know much about. Gave me some great ideas and I actually learned a lot about that particular niche which was very helpful.
Have also used it for free reports to give to my list but I did rewrite them and make them my own. Great way to help you get started in any niche for that matter.
Appreciate you sharing the other tips about the free giveaway events. Did not know that. I enjoy learning something new.
Thanks again,
Adrienne

Hi Adrienne, thanks for dropping by and adding your comments, on balance I use about 40% PLR materials and the rest is my own but it makes a great starting point for reports and articles.

Hi Rob,
I LOVE plr material! I have a heap of it on my hard drive that I am in the middle of categorising for the exact purpose of giveaways, list building, reworking etc etc.
There is some really great content that can be sorced. I think most people believe that all plr can be rubbish, and sure I have found some rubbish, however I have also found some great stuff too!
I hope everything is going well.
See you back here soon! 😎
Cheers
