Product Creation: A Day At The Office

April 3, 2013 By Robert Corrigan 12 Comments

Firstly a question, where do you work best?

Mostly I work at home in my office, but just occasionally I like to expand my horizons a bit and become more flexible inn my working practices. On these days I prefer to work in one of the many office spaces that are available to me in the fair city of Liverpool. I think these are also known as pubs?

My current “office” (where I wrote this) is known as Bier and is an excellent venue with its selection of quality ales and imported beer it comes highly recommended, (but not on a Saturday night when the worlds worst DJ excels in driving away good custom after attempting first to burst their ear drums).

But is beer and work a good combination?

In my case yes, for me it’s liberating to be away from home with the frequent distractions and constant pinging of the email. Warning me of yet another cannot do without thingumy is for sale and if I don’t buy it now at a massive discount it may be gone forever, it just destroys the erm, what’s it called? Oh yes concentration.

I never take a laptop, or a netbook and the IPad is still where I left it, just me a writing pad a pen and a pint.

Productive, well I have in the past hour, written the copy for my eBay listing of “War of the Worlds.”

War of the Worlds Audio MP3

Brainstormed a selection of books for Kindle, Written a description and planned the eBay listing of some software products I am going to sell.

Astronomy Software

Come up with three new product ideas, and written this blog post.

So a fruitful day all round, plus I managed to save 2 pence in real money due to the reduction in excise duty on beer by our chancellor in the latest budget. Thanks George, what ever will I spend it on?

So it only remains for me to ask. How do you like to work?

The Easiest eBay Start-Up Ever?

February 20, 2013 By Robert Corrigan 16 Comments

One of the major problems with selling on eBay is the money you need to spend to invest in stock to resell before you even make a sale.

No matter how much you research your market there is always the possibility that some of the products you buy to resell will be complete turkeys, even if someone else is selling the same product successfully and at a higher price.

After all isn’t the idea of selling on eBay to make money and not to lose it? So here is an opportunity to make start with NO cash at all.

These are products that are available free, you only pay a tiny fee to list the product. This idea may never make you a full time income but it does have the following advantages.

  • The products are FREE

  • The listing fees are very small

  • There are many thousands of these products for you to choose from

I am talking here of using Public Domain (PD) materials or in other word products whose copyright have expired, or are free of any copyright restrictions.

The big boom market is in Audio Books at the moment, the Kindle Fire, Ipad, Ipod and other portable devices that can play MP3 files have fuelled the demand. This creates a business opportunity for us to tap into.

Here are just a few examples of sellers reselling materials in the Public Domain.

Look at the sales numbers 197!

What about radio shows or TV shows or even films in the public domain

Plus it does not stop with audio books, there is a big demand for e-books in different formats for the e-reader market:

Don’t forget video

Any one of these or a similar product will give you a good start plus this is all done on a shoestring, the downside is that selling prices are generally low but apart from the disk, postage and a small eBay fee the rest is yours.

So how do you start in the public domain? Well here is a freebie to get you started, it is by Steve Poke, and as far as PD is concerned he really knows how to make this work as a business.

DOWNLOAD YOUR COPY HERE

Is this one of the easiest start-ups ever? I think so.

If you have found this interesting remember It’s good to share. Please leave a comment.

Review Of The Year, Plans For Next Year & My Own Event!

December 23, 2012 By Robert Corrigan 6 Comments

Hi everyone, it may seem a bit early for a review of 2012 but I have a big event starting on Dec 23rd so I thought it would be good time to do both.

Firstly, I am ending the year and beginning 2013 by co-hosting a major giveaway event with the able help of Keith Purkiss. Giveaway events are excellent not only for members but also contributors as there are many first class products available for FREE or on special offer at amazingly low prices.

Here is the link so that you can claim your own free gifts.

Find out more about Giveaways HERE.

Personal Highlights of the year for me have been spending time and travelling with my lovely partner Julia. We have been to Stratford which saw monsoon weather of biblical proportions, The English Lake District visiting Grasmere and the home of Lakeland poet William Wordsworth.

Bamburgh castle which I have always wanted to visit, and the Capital of Scotland Edinburgh to watch the show Midnight Tango. Plus a brilliant holiday in the sunshine of Majorca.

Business wise, I had a very successful year as an affiliate for John Thornhill’s One Month Mentor, Dan Sumners & John Thornhill’s Product Development Control and Dan’s Bloggers Roadmap. All top quality products from ethical marketers.

On my own products, I have completed my new Kindle home study course (which took months) which I think is my best product to date.

My Kindle books sell on autopilot but I have not produced much content in the second half of the year due to producing the Kindle video course.

I have however produced a number of smaller products such as……

Selling Information Products On eBay

Make A Killer Income From Small Ads

eBay Private Lable Empire

Things I am disappointed with 🙁

I had many more products planned this year that I never got around to finishing. Working my full time job has proved draining both mentally and physically leaving little time in the evening for working on my own business ideas or for R&R. I need to find a better balance here.

I had intended to produce Plugin Auction Profits 2 which is in completed draft planning, but this has now been penned in for 2013 as well as my print version or 12 Roads to Success via Create Space.

I had intended to offer custom WordPress websites for local businesses but just run out of time to even start this, maybe I was a bit too ambitious for one year?

So What Is In Store For 2013? Lots!

On a personal basis plenty of fun and travel!

On a business basis…

Priority 1

Continue to build my mailing list, obviously this will be ongoing.

Priority 2

Get my Kindle Product up for sale, I still need to finish the sales page and affiliate materials, order graphics etc.

Priority 3

Complete the upsell for the Kindle product about building an Information Business off Amazon.

Priority 4

Make more use of social media in my business and to blog and visit other blogs more often.

I have a number of other products and ideas in the planning stage which will see the light of dawn in 2013.

So what have you planned for 2013? Please leave a comment.

It’s good to share! Please help me spread the word by sharing on Facebook, Twitter and other social media.

Sir Patrick Moore: A Personal Reflection

December 10, 2012 By Robert Corrigan 8 Comments

Yesterday was a very sad day for me; one of my personal heroes’s died. Sir Patrick Moore passed away aged 89. Patrick was a national treasure, the embodiment of a world that sadly no longer exists, a better world with old fashioned values such as decency, service and helping others. Patrick stoically refused to be modernised which is why we loved him so much.

With his pipe and monocle, his unkempt appearance, his infectious enthusiasm, and his willingness to send himself up Patrick was always good value.

As a young boy I was captivated by his enthusiasm for astronomy and inspired by his Friday evening spot, seeing stars. I wrote to Patrick several times who always replied promptly to my many queries (I still have the letters and postcards).

I met Patrick on many occasions and always found him to be excellent company, his deep love of astronomy, music and cricket brought forth many anecdotes all of them hilarious: a real story teller.

Best known for his record breaking programme The Sky at Night Patrick was also one of the presenters of the moon landing programmes presented on the BBC. I often wondered what happened to MAUD the lunar bicycle unveiled by Patrick, perhaps future missions to the moon will resurrect this outstanding piece of British invention and initiative.

Patrick was also an accomplished pianist and xylophonist and often performed his own compositions despite having no formal training. Often impersonated on TV with great affection Patrick was a familiar face to all.

My favourite personal memory of Patrick was watching him demonstrate his spin bowling technique by thundering down the reception area of the Shaftsbury Hotel in Liverpool much to the dismay of the Maitre De and the hotel staff.

Thank you Sir Patrick for all the pleasure you have given me over the past 40 years and to the countless others that you have inspired, you will be sadly missed.

Sir Patrick Moore 1923-2012

Who Says You Cannot Use PLR Material For Kindle Content!

November 27, 2012 By Robert Corrigan 6 Comments

Well Kindle do for starters and that has led to a lot of Kindle accounts being blocked or terminated the Kindle slap or in other words they upset the 800lb Gorilla that is Amazon.

Here is the problem too many people were using PLR content the wrong way. PLR or (Private Label Rights) materials are freely available at very modest prices or even free, the whole idea of PLR materials is to use it as a starting point, a kind of check list to build the content for your own unique book.

Now the quality of PLR varies enormously from the excellent to and let me be blunt here… complete crap. The temptation of just uploading the PLR content as is was just too much of a temptation for far too many people. You see lots of other people had exactly the same idea (and the same PLR) and the market became flooded with large amounts of books which were exactly the same.

The content appeared time and time again with different titles, articles just mixed around instead of being re-written, this was tarnishing Amazons image and the 800lb Gorilla that is Amazon was most displeased. Instead of wielding a scalpel to the problem they wielded a sledge hammer.

So you can’t use PLR right? Wrong, I have just published a book on allergy relief on Kindle using a collection of PLR materials. It is approved, published and is selling. How did I do it? I simply did exactly what you are supposed to do, I significantly differentiated my content from the source material therefore ending up with a unique offering.

In other words, I completely rewrote the PLR articles, I edited sections out of the original and I added bits in from my own research. As an experiment I also created a Facebook page, and added a QR Code to the book. The great thing is I can use this new content or the original PLR articles and sell it elsewhere such as eBay and other eBook websites.

I did all this as to show how easy it was to produce your own Kindle content as part of the training in my new Kindle training course that I am producing and which is near completion to show that you can use PLR material but only if you do it the right way.

So here is the challenge, most of us have tons of PLR materials gathering digital dust on our hard drive, could we not use that to start our own Kindle business? Or, if the PLR materials you have are of a poor quality then why not check out PLR Monthly?

Stiil rebuilding my blog everyone so keep coming back for changes… Rob

eBay Success Secrets: How To Build Your Own eBay Empire

Just a quick post today, I am working on a new Kindle product which is a step by step course on producing content for Kindle with a template, PDF and about 14-15 over the shoulder training videos plus lots more.

As part of the course I show how to produce Kindle books and get them published, yesterday I shot the entire listing process and video and uploaded the book for publication, it went live this morning! I can now shoot the rest of the videos and get it finished.

Here’s a sneak preview, click the graphic and see the listing and the Amazon preview.

Or click HERE to see the listing.

The cover was ordered for Fiverr and the content was based on my own business as an eBay Powerseller selling non branded products.

I think it look quite smart…. Rob

A Quick Update!

The book was published about 27 hours ago, here’s what I found when I logged on today

My book is ranked number 57 best seller in it’s catagory and in the top 130,000 Kindle books

Not too shabby!!  Rob

How Well Do You Do This?

August 5, 2012 By Robert Corrigan 9 Comments

That’s look after your subscribers, remember that people on your list subscribed for a reason, maybe they found or where directed to your blog where you were offering great information or there was something that they found interesting there.

Maybe the subscriber found one of your sales pages that allowed them to optin to get a mini course or a freebie.

What ever the reason they chose to subscribe to your e-mails, so what next, well you need to give them a reason to keep subscribed.

There are different ways of doing this; post informative content to your blog regularly, and you can send them offers for products or services that you feel may be of use or value to them, remember that people will expect you do that.

And you can offer them subscriber discounts on your own products and those of other marketers, most will be happy to do this in return for a sign up to one of their lists.

You can also offer high value content on a regular basis completely free.

There is a fine balance between all of these actions. By offering quality content on your blog you will get a high number of return visitors who may buy something from you particularly if you are reviewing a product on the blog post.

E-mailing offers out, again this is a balancing act only; promote those products or services that you feel would help your subscribers best, why did they subscribe? Look for something that would be complimentary and promote that, BUT only if it will be of value to them.

Never promote crap just because the commissions are better this will bite you on the backside. Also never pester the hell out of your subscribers they will either unsubscribe or just not open your e-mails. Just take today, in less than 24 hours I have had 59 e-mails from the same marketer promoting different products.

Yes 59, do you think that marketer has by best interests in mind or is he trying to make a fast buck? What we call a churn and burn merchant.

Do you offer high value freebies to your list on a regular basis? I try to do this once a month, this maybe a report for something am working on, and occasionally it is a report from another marketer from which I may make a few affiliate sales.

I also use PLR materials as the basis for some of my freebies, but as ever always use high quality PLR materials and make sure you edit them to suit your list.

Last week I sent out a freebie on LIST BUILDING to my list so if you would like a copy of it click the eBook cover or HERE and grab your cover.

I also recorded the whole process on video so if you want to see how I did it click the image and view the video which is on my YouTube channel.

The whole process is recorded in the video VIEW HERE. Hope you will find this of interest,

Rob

Product Development Control A Review

June 5, 2012 By Robert Corrigan Leave a Comment

The way to make real money in Internet Marketing is to produce your own products. You have total control over the whole process. But…. It can seem overwhelming where you start first, what I need to think about etc. Wouldn’t it be great to work form a route map that showed you what to do every step of the way saving both time and frustration.

Well things just got a whole lot easier because Dan Sumner and John Thornhill have just released “Product Development Control” the ultimate bible for producing you own quality and profitable products in a fraction of the time it used to take.

As Dan and John make extensive use of Video, Audio, PDF Instruction and work sheets to take you step by step through the whole product creation process this is as easy as look over my shoulder and do what I do. This is the product creation process in action my two marketers who are known for the quality of the products they create.

I have just completed reviewing the whole course and I can say I learned a thing or 9 about how to produce my own products more quickly and easily. “Product Development Control” has 6 Modules.

Module 1:

The 5 videos in this module show how to plan a product using the mind mapping process that Dan and John have used to pull in thousands of dollars this year alone. The easy to follow videos and accompanied by access the resources to do this which are free. Watch as Dan and John create the outline to a product “live”.

Module 2:

2 Videos on how to create content, what formats to use where to source professional graphic, often a make or break for any product. Follow the complete checklist to success.

Module 3:

Sales page creation techniques, supporting Pages for your products website. Sourcing and producing bonus products. The power of testimonials in the selling process.

Module 4:

Four videos cover: Getting started with your product development all the tools you need for free. How to outsource parts of the process for speed and professionalism.  Testing your product and give it the final tweaks it needs to produce sales.

Module 5:

What are the best methods of processing your payments, the pro’s and con’s of taking money using Clickbank, PayPal, Pay.com, JV Zoo and a host of other payment processors.

Module 6:

Lift off! Promoting your product, finding affiliates and JV partners, the power of social media and blogging.

A massive set of resources links to online tools plus a mean set of bonus products that would cost more than the price of this program alone. This make “Product Development Control” as complete as it can possibly be. I have spent a day trying to think of what could be added or improved, result I failed. Well done Dan and John you nailed this one!

This product is no longer available on The Warrior Forum BUT Dan and John have set up a special discount for visitors to my blog where you can still get this for a measly $27 AND I am still offering my bonus package, this makes it a no brainier for me I can make this back on my first sale!

I am so impressed that I am offering some unique and strictly limited bonuses for buying

“Product Development Control”

though my link. Click HERE or the GRAPHIC below to find out about  my exclusive bonuses

Hurry as I expect these to sell out very quickly! Rob..
